Dr. James B. Lewis, D.M.D.
Born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, Dr. Lewis received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Gonzaga University in Spokane in 1989. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 1994 from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, and is also a graduate of Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dentistry is a passion of Dr. Lewis’, and he enjoys many aspects of it, with emphasis on Functional Jaw Orthopedics. Dr. Lewis as well has completed extensive obstructive sleep apnea training. Working with Oral Appliance Therapy has allowed him to offer a comfortable alternative to conventional CPAP therapy. Home sleep testing and specialization in obstructive sleep apnea has been a great joy to share with others. Dr. Lewis continues to make Sandpoint his home with his wife Geraldine and their four children.
Dr. Mark W. Hawn, D.D.S.
Dr. Hawn originally hails from Eau Claire, WI, and has always dreamed of making North Idaho his home. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, MN, and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery and from the University of Minnesota Dental School, where he graduated with honors. He then continued his education at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID at an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. Through his experience, he has gained expertise which enables him to offer treatment in all areas of dentistry, including (but not limited to): routine restorative, implants, crowns, bridges, root canals, dentures, tooth whitening, full-mouth reconstructions, smile makeovers, veneers, splint therapy, bone grafts, wisdom teeth extractions, periodontal surgeries and other oral surgeries. Our office also offers intravenous and oral sedation for anxious patients, invasive treatment, and/or lengthy procedures.
Dr. Hawn has also undergone extensive Sleep Apnea training. He works with medical providers to best manage his patients' sleep disorders. With both parents suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea, this area of treatment has quickly become one of his passions.
Dr. Hawn loves spending time with his close-knit family and friends. He has two kids, Will and Olivia, whom he loves dearly. He loves the outdoors and enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, downhill skiing, waterskiing, mountain biking and many other athletic activities. Dr. Hawn has several relatives who live in Sandpoint, and he quickly fell in love with the area when he would visit family. He is excited to continue his dental career here in North Idaho.
